Our vision is to advance research into ways that the UK food system can increasingly adopt novel and underutilised crops (NUCs) by applying cross-disciplinary expertise in concert with industry, policy and community stakeholders focusing on the future of UK agriculture.
Benefits of Membership
Members receive occasional newsletters, members-only funding, and opportunities to connect with a community working on new collaborations, funding bids, policy engagement, and NUCNet‑organised events.
Early Career Researcher (ECR) members can also join our mentoring scheme, become a member of the ECR Management Board (ECR‑MB) and participate in ECR-focused activities, awards and grants.
Eligibility
Understanding the challenges and opportunities surrounding NUCs requires a diverse community. Membership is open to anyone aged 18 or over, across all sectors and career stages – including education, plant breeding, food manufacturing, charities, third‑sector organisations, industry, policy groups, NGOs, and community groups.
Code of conduct
This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected of all members. By joining NUCNet, members agree to uphold these principles to help maintain a fair, inclusive, and respectful network. We also expect network members to be adhere to “The Seven Principles of Public Life”
